Flight Notes

This was the first bit of disappointment I’ve experienced with flying so far. I had been watching the weather all week and crossing my fingers for some clear skies.

“Nope.” - Zeus

Garrett offers me the option to get up there and fly despite the conditions, but warns that it probably wouldn’t be the best day to perform steep turns for the first time. I don’t have a reference as to how strong the turbulence would have been, but I imagine it’s more significant than catching the wake of another plane, which had jolted me on the previous flight.

I opt for a ground lesson in the classroom and we go over steep turn and take off procedures.

  • I take this time to check out a beautifully restored 1950’s Cessna 195 (pictured above), grab a milkshake from Burger King, and watch some planes who are braving the winds take off.

  • I don’t regret the milkshake.
