Flight Summary
Saturday morning flight with a left Dumbarton departure to practice basic turns over Woodside and highway 280.
Flight and Lesson Notes
First flight with Garrett, my permanent CFI that I’ll be doing the rest of my lessons with.
Garrett is the same age as me (22) and I’m one of his first students.
-
Did an in-depth preflight of the airplane.
-
Flew out over Downtown Palo Alto and the Stanford campus to practice turns.
-
At one point I get myself into a 45 degree turn and a slight dive – Garrett lets me recognize and correct it myself (Garrett is brave).
-
I begin to understand the concept of “horizon” halfway through the flight, and the turns get a lot easier.
